Herts Air Ambulance Rotor Run is Runaway Success!
The Herts Air Ambulance held its third annual Rotor Run on Sunday 25th September 2011 at Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage with over 100 runners turning out on what was a beautiful sunny day to support the event and raise much needed funds.
With sponsorship money still to come in – runners have until the end of October - we aim to raise £3,000 for YOUR life-saving helicopter.
105 Runners took part in the 5k fun Rotor Run and around 40 mums, dads and toddlers joined in the Rotor Roam around the lake! The fastest runner was over the line in 16 and a half minutes, just shy of the record set last year.
The star of the show, the Herts Air Ambulance made a special landing at the event, giving people the unique opportunity to see the helicopter up close and personal and meet the Air Crew!
Wendy Marcon, Event Manager for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust, said: “We are delighted that the third Rotor Run for Herts Air Ambulance was another great success. A great day was had by all and I would like to say a big thank you to all the marshals who helped out on the day and not forgetting our fantastic runners who seemed to make it round in record time! Also, a big thank you to Stevenage Leisure Park, Fairlands Valley Spartans and Stevenage Borough Council for kindly supporting the event. We look forward to making it bigger and better next year!”
The Charity would like to remind all runners who took part to return their completed sponsorship forms and funds to the Charity Office by Sunday 30th October.
