Mobile Phones to Help Save Lives!
Herts Air Ambulance is really excited about the launch of their new mobile phone service; Text to Donate. This brand new initiative allows people to get in touch with the Charity and show their support by making a donation or joining the Flight for Life Lottery, all through their mobile phone!
The life-saving Charity has joined forces with paythru, a mobile communications company to enable supporters to donate using their credit or debit card through the mobile internet. The benefit of using this service is that people do not pay Premium Rate texts, therefore the Charity receives more of their donation as a result.
Pam Withrington of Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust said, “We are hoping that Text to Donate will inspire younger generations to become supporters, since the mobile internet is becoming increasingly popular. It will also make it easier and quicker for our existing supporters to make donations and communicate with us. Everyone has a mobile phone these days and therefore it is important for us to acknowledge this and create new ways of enabling people to give and keep in touch.”
Gareth Cook, Account Director at paythru adds, “People are using their mobile everyday for much more than simple calls and texting. Our unique solution enables supporters to communicate with Herts Air Ambulance, offer support and if they wish, donate on an impulsive basis.”
